This tutorial will show you how to deal with Google WEB fonts display issue in Joomla 3.x templates.

You can follow the steps below if some letters of your language don’t show up correctly when you check with some specific browser. For example, there are some bold letters appearing:

1. Check the font of the text that does not show up properly with a Firebug Developer Tool. In this case, it is Roboto Slab. Copy this font name:

   

2. Search for Google Webfonts with some search engine and open the link to this Google Webfonts site. In the Search box, paste the font name. You will see this font from the result list:

   

3. Click Add to Collection, then Use button:

   

4. To make sure this font will work with your language, in the field Choose the character sets you want: you can select all the extended sets from the list:

   

   In Add this code to your website: area, click Standard. You will see the generated code, copy this code:

   

5. Log into FTP/file manager, from the root directory go to templates/themeXXXX (XXXX is the number of the theme), open index.php file to edit:

   

   From this index.php file, you will see the Google web fonts standard code of the font. It is without the extended language set. Replace this code with the new standard code from step 4. Hit Save Changes to save this file:

   

Refresh the site to see the font issue has been resolved:
